The Atmosphere
Located on peaceful Chartres Street, a stay at Soniat House gives you a true taste of old New Orleans. This charming hotel occupies three historic Creole townhouses that were built in the early nineteenth century by a French plantation owner. With a pretty red brick exterior framed by green shutters and an intricate wrought iron balcony, Soniat House is a gem of French Quarter architecture.
Behind the front door, you’ll find yourself in a green and peaceful courtyard, a quiet oasis to retire to after a busy day exploring New Orleans. Magnolia, guava and sweet ginger surround a central fountain and spiral staircases lead to the rooms above.
Your Room
Each room has its own unique style and character but all are elegant, luxurious and beautifully decorated with antique furniture and original art. The size and shape of each varies, but our favorites all have high ceilings, large windows and open out on to a balcony.
Need to Know
Soniat House does not have a restaurant but breakfast is served daily, either in your room, the courtyard or on the balcony. Their cellar is well stocked and there is a full bar based on an honor system.
