Luxury California Travel

The Golden State has it all, from the great outdoors to sophisticated city life and everything in between.

From our office in Los Angeles, we spend more time designing luxury trips to California than anywhere else.

It’s an often quoted fact that California’s economy is larger than those of most countries. In fact, it would rank eighth, hot on the tail of Brazil and the United Kingdom. But it’s not only California’s economy that gives it a scale more akin to a country rather than a mere state.

In a place that boasts the highest and lowest points in the lower forty-eight only 85 miles apart (Mt Whitney and Death Valley), the geographical diversity of California is incredible. It is this variety that make California such a great introduction to America if you do not know the country well.

Northern California boasts rugged coastline, ancient groves of coastal redwoods, volcanic mountain ranges and two of the world’s most renowned wine regions in Napa and Sonoma. Further south, the majestic Sierra Nevada mountains run through the heart of the state, encompassing vast areas of pristine wilderness, the world-class ski areas surrounding Lake Tahoe and two of America’s most enchanting national parks, Yosemite and Sequoia.

Towards the Pacific, the dramatic beauty of Big Sur, running along California’s Central Coast, is one of the most iconic road trips in the world. SoCal’s Mojave Desert is a vast and fascinating mix of high desert ranges and basins. The glam oasis getaway of Palm Springs, and nearby Joshua Tree National Park, are the perfect place for some winter desert sun.

No luxury trip to California is complete without time in San Francisco or Los Angeles and these very different cities both warrant much more than the couple of days they are usually afforded. San Francisco, with its bay setting and picture postcard hills, is often visitors’ favorite American city and Los Angeles, a place like nowhere else, is fascinating, fun-loving and so often misunderstood.

Add a laid-back culture, enviable weather, fine dining and world-class hotels, and a California road trip should be high on everyone’s bucket list. Reach out to our travel specialists to plan your own custom California luxury travel.
