A family run boutique hotel in the heart of Jackson that is the perfect year round base for exploring the national parks or hitting the slopes.
The Atmosphere at the Rusty Parrot Lodge
The Rusty Parrot Lodge feels like a home away from home and perfectly blends creature comforts and personal service with a low-key, casual vibe. The lodge, both inside and out, has a distinctly Western feel, without ever straying into the dreaded ‘theme’ territory. You can expect staff to know your name and the service is personalized in a way that is only possible in a smaller boutique hotel.
The location is perfect, set on the edge of a peaceful, tree-lined park just five minutes walk from the shops and galleries of Jackson. The majestic peaks of Grand Teton National Park are on the doorstep and Yellowstone National Park is well within reach. In the winter months, while you won’t have the ability to ski to your front door like some Teton Village properties, the lodge is only a 12 mile drive through Jackson Hole to the base of the mountain.
As you’d expect with Jackson’s leading boutique hotel, the lodge’s 30 rooms are cosy, comfortable and understated. All have aged wooden furniture, deep leather armchairs and beds that you won’t want to get out of. Large soaking tubs and fireplaces make them the perfect place to unwind after a long day exploring the park or making tracks on the mountain. Many of the rooms on the upper floors have private balconies and are the best bet, especially in the summer.
Need to Know
The lodge’s Wild Sage restaurant is one of the best in the Jackson Hole area and is a destination in itself. With only 30 tables and a big log fire, it is intimate and welcoming. Expect mouthwatering dishes made with local ingredients, especially regional meats and game. The wine list is extensive, mixing the classics with some more unusual bottles.
